Enhance lets you create full mailboxes for your domain, set up forwarders, and configure autoresponders - all from within the panel.
Creating a Mailbox
- Log in to web.teklanhosting.co.uk.
- Click your website, then go to Emails.
- Click Add account.
- Enter the local part - e.g.
hellocreates[email protected]. - Set a strong password and save.
The mailbox is ready immediately. You can access it via webmail or configure a mail client.
Accessing Webmail
There are two ways to open webmail from Enhance:
- Webmail button - click Webmail at the top right of the Email accounts page. This opens the general webmail login where you sign in with your full email address and password.
- SSO icon - click the icon next to a specific mailbox in the list. This logs you straight into that mailbox without entering credentials.
Configuring a Mail Client (Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird)
Use these settings with any IMAP-compatible mail client:
Incoming (IMAP):
Server: mail.yourdomain.com
Port: 993
Security: SSL/TLS
Outgoing (SMTP):
Server: mail.yourdomain.com
Port: 465
Security: SSL/TLS
Username: your full email address ([email protected])
Password: the password you set in Enhance
Replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name.
Setting Up a Forwarder
To forward incoming mail to another address without storing it:
- Open the mailbox in Enhance → Emails.
- Find the Forwarders section.
- Add the destination address (e.g. your Gmail).
Mail received will be forwarded on automatically. To forward-only without storing a local copy, set the mailbox quota to 0 MB.
Autoresponders
An autoresponder sends an automatic reply to anyone who emails the address - useful for out-of-office messages or contact forms.
- Open the mailbox → Autoresponder.
- Enable it and write your reply message.
- Set optional start and end dates if it is a temporary message.
Spam Filtering
Basic spam filtering is enabled by default. If you are receiving excessive spam, open a support ticket and we can adjust the spam score threshold for your account.
MX records: Email will only work if your domain's MX records point to our mail servers. If your domain uses TekLan nameservers this is automatic. If you manage DNS elsewhere, contact us for the correct MX values to add.
