Moving your website can feel like a lot to organise. Tell us where it is hosted and what you want to move. We will check compatibility, agree what is included and explain what you need to do before the changeover.

We offer free migration for eligible websites, databases and email from cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin and other hosts. Your domain and business email can stay where they are if you only want to move your website. Custom applications may need work by your developer, which we will discuss before the move.

Supported Platforms

Moving from cPanel, Plesk or another host?

We have experience with common hosting control panels. If yours is not listed, ask us to check what can be moved.

cPanel
The most common shared hosting panel. We import full cPanel backup files (.tar.gz) directly, covering files, databases, email accounts, and DNS zones.
Plesk
We can use a backup from your Plesk host to move supported sites and data. Send us the details so we can check what it contains.
Other hosts
No control panel access? We can connect via SFTP or FTP, export your databases manually, and migrate email using IMAP sync. Most hosts are covered.
How it works

Plan, copy, test and switch

Open a ticket and tell us what you want to move. We will confirm the access or backup files needed, agree a plan and keep you updated. Once the copied site is ready, you approve the change and point your domain to TekLan.

Open a ticket

Tell us your current host, control panel type, and what you want to move. We'll confirm what we need from you, usually read-only access or a backup file.

We connect and copy

We copy the agreed website files, databases and email to your new hosting. Keep your old hosting active during the move. If your site takes orders or receives new data, we will agree how to handle changes during the transfer.

We test on our end

We verify the site loads correctly, the database connections work, and email is functional. All of this happens before you change a single DNS record.

Point your domain to TekLan

Once you approve the copied site, update the agreed domain settings. The change can take time to reach every visitor. We will explain the steps and check the new site with you before you close your old hosting account.
